Cape Dorset Large Walking Polar Bear

Hand carved by master artists of the First Nation Inuit community of Cape Dorset, Nunavut, in the Northwest Passages of the arctic region of Canada, this bear is made of serpentinite or soapstone. This more rare white stone includes quite a bit of mica which catches the light beautifully (but is impossible to capture in a photo, sorry). 

Each piece is completely one of a kind sculpture and comes with a certificate of authenticity including artist information. All First Nation work at Arcadia is purchased either directly or from artist co-operatives to insure that the artists profit directly.

Measures 6" long by 6" wide by 4" tall and weighs 2lb 9oz.
