Fair Trade Soapstone 12 Piece Nativity Set

Nativity sets are usually pretty standardized and typically look the same. Not this one. 

Hand carved in ivory colored soapstone in a Byzantine style emphasizing tall, elongated figures with formal poses and classical style faces, the set includes baby Jesus, Mary, Joseph, a kneeling angel, a horse, sheep and ox, two shepherds (with sticks), and three wise men bearing gifts. 

Imported into the US by a founding member of the Fair Trade Federation, funds raised from selling this sculpture supports a variety of community programs such as clean water, education, and women's empowerment in the artists' community.

The tallest pieces (wise men and shepherds) are 5.5" tall by 1.25" wide by 1" thick, baby Jesus is 2" long by 1.25" wide by 1/2" thick. Total weight of the entire set is 2.75 lbs.
