"Lighthouse" Reclaimed Materials Mantel Art
A beacon of hope, wherever life takes you.
Made entirely of recycled tin cans (mostly baked beans), bits of wire and reclaimed wood, this miniature sculpture stands tall despite it's Lilliputian size. Build an entire seaside village scene with the miniature cottages, homes, sailboats, lobster boats and schooners by the same artist.
Sarah Jane Brown is a lifelong artist from North Northumberland, UK, just south of Scotland, with a long coast along the North Sea. As Sarah says, it's a place with big skies, big beaches and lots of space to create. She describes herself as a Northern soul; she wears her heart on her sleeve.
A recipient of a then Princes Trust (now the King) grant many years ago, she has been fortunate to work as an artist for over 30 years. With inspiration from her backyard garden and miles-long walks through the country, her themes reflect whimsy and fun balanced with her love of silence and space.
Measures 4.75" tall on a 1" wooden cube base, it weighs less than an ounce.
